Who wears leather?

Hey cheers! Snake here.

Let's talk a little (so it doesn't become boring) about leather, especially about what leather represents.

A brief history
From ancient times, leather was an indispensable good. The primitive man hunted animals and used their skins to make shelter, carpets, clothes, footwear, water containers, decorative attires and even boats.

Native americans and other tribes used leather to make clothes, footwear (the famous moccasins), jewlery quivers, tents (the teepees) and many, many more.

In the middle ages, leather was used very often to make armors (because was way more lightweight than metal), helmets, armbraces (today's bracelets and cuffs), harnesses, full leg armors, brigandines, heavy leather shirts and so on.

Remember Maximus the roman gladiator, Robin Hood, Hercules, Alexander the Great, Spartacus, Geronimo, Ginghis Han and the list could go on for days. Guess what?

Maximus leather
They all wear leather.

In those times, leather meant toughness, it meant manliness, it meant high status, and things haven't changed much since then.

Think about the romans, the egyptian kings, native americans, scandinavian vikings... What this people had in common?

They were all real men, not some pussies!

Enough history, let's see who wears leather nowadays
Hmmm... let's seeee.

Cowboys: coats, hats, belts, boots, vests, bracelets, saddles...
Rockers: jackets, vests, boots, bracelets, necklaces and pendants, patches...
Bikers: jackets, chaps, pants, vests, boots, gloves, shirts, bracelets, necklaces and pendants, bandanas, patches, tool and saddle bags...
Rockstars: pants, jackets, boots, vests, bracelets, necklaces and pendants, patches...
Movie stars and celebs: I saw them wearing all kind of leather items, of course not in the same time.
Anyone who wants to stand out and make a bold statement about himself.

Check out this guy in this leather jacket!

He is... the man (Smith - Shoot 'Em Up)

By the way if you haven't seen that movie, you should, it's pretty cool.

You see, everything about leather is so damn cooool, it expresses pure masculinity, toughness, sexual power, and all this thing makes you unique and distinctive.

Wheather is a jacket, a pair of boots, a bracelet or a belt. Leather gives you that masculine touch.

Picture this in your mind, imagine all this people wearing polyester instead of leather, wouldn't that be just ridiculous?

Now I'm asking you... would you take seriously a guy wearing polyester jacket and a rubber or a shamballa bracelet?
Neither I. To me it smells like pussy from a thousand mile!

Listen to what rock and metal bands like Guns n' Roses, Judas Priest, Saxon, Manowar are playing about leather...

Songs like: "Black Leather", "Leather Rebel", "Hell bent for leather", "Denim & Leather " and here comes favourite "Gloves Of Metal".

We wear leather, we wear spikes, we rule the night!

Why do you think they sing about leather? I'll tell you why! Because metal and leather go hand in hand. That's why!

Over and Out!
